A new remotely operated vehicle, or ROV, has been unveiled that could help reduce costs and improve operational efficiency and yields in aquaculture. Canadian firm Deep Trekker, which manufactures the DTG2 ROV, describes it as affordable, easy to use and capable of carrying out tasks such as object retrieval, underwater monitoring and net inspection. Following a demonstration of the ROV at this year's Aquaculture UK in Scotland, Bonnie Waycott spoke to Deep Trekker President Sam Macdonald to learn more about the ROV's potential in aquaculture.
